We handle personal information in accordance with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) 2012. This notice explains what information we collect, why we use it and how to raise a privacy question. Client engagements may have additional confidentiality and data-handling arrangements agreed separately.

Information you provide

When you contact us through the enquiry form, we collect your name, email address and message. You may also provide your company name, but this is optional. We may retain relevant correspondence when we respond to you.

Please provide only the information needed to explain your business challenge. Avoid including passwords, identity document numbers, financial account details, sensitive personal information or confidential client material in your initial enquiry. If more detailed information is needed, we can agree an appropriate way to share it.

We do not add you to a marketing mailing list simply because you make an enquiry. We will seek separate permission before using your enquiry details for that purpose.

Website operation and security

Our hosting and security providers may process technical information, such as your IP address, browser information, requested pages and request times, to deliver the website, maintain reliability and prevent abuse.

Any form security checks may also process information needed to distinguish legitimate enquiries from automated or abusive requests. We use this information for operating and protecting the service, rather than for advertising profiles.

Storage and access

We store enquiry records and related correspondence using business systems with restricted access. Access is limited to people authorised to handle this information for Absteq Consulting.

We also use service providers to host the website and support its operation and security. They may process information on our behalf for those purposes. We may disclose information where required by law or where otherwise permitted under applicable law.

Our service providers may process information in Singapore or other locations. Where personal information is transferred overseas, we take steps to ensure that it receives protection comparable to the standard required under Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act.

How long we keep information

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to enquiries, manage related correspondence and meet applicable legal or business requirements. When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymise it.

If an enquiry becomes a client engagement, relevant records are handled under the retention arrangements for that engagement. Information may be kept longer where there is a documented legal or business need.

Removing information from active records may not immediately remove every historical or backup copy. Such copies are subject to the applicable retention and deletion arrangements and are not used for routine enquiry handling.

Your choices and privacy requests

You may contact us to request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you, subject to applicable law. You may also withdraw consent for uses that rely on your consent by giving reasonable notice.

If withdrawing consent affects our ability to respond to an enquiry or provide a requested service, we will explain the likely consequences. We may still need to retain or process information where the law requires or permits it.

We may ask for proportionate information to verify your identity before acting on a request. Please do not send identity documents unless we have explained why they are needed and agreed a suitable way to provide them.
